Windsor Lancers centre Matt Morencie and Regina Rams slotback Jordan Sisco will participate in next month's East-West Shrine game in Orlando. The six-foot-three, 290-pound Morencie was selected in the 2009 CFL Canadian college draft by the B.C. Lions but the human kinetics major opted to return to school and finish his degree. The move paid off as Morencie, of Windsor, Ont., captured the J.P. Metras Trophy as Canadian university football's top down lineman.

Calgary Dinos quarterback Erik Glavic made Canadian university football history Thursday night when he was named CIS player of the year for the second time in three seasons. Glavic, a fourth-year player from Pickering, Ont., became the first player to win then Hec Crighton Trophy as the top player in Canadian university football with two different teams. He was the 2007 Hec Crighton winner in his final season with the Saint Mary's Huskies before transferring to Calgary.

The native of Pickering is also the first player to ever win the Hec Crighton trophy with two different teams.
